Biden Courts Black Voters in Philadelphia, Vows to Defeat Trump
Joe Biden has started a new tour for Black voters on Wednesday in Philadelphia to mitigate the declining support they are showing to the democrats ahead of the next general elections. With a black woman as his Vice President, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden spoke to a surging crowd at Girard College, a prestigious boarding institution that was founded for poor white male orphaned students and later desegregated in 1968.
Biden summarized the policy successes, such as the replacement of lead water pipes, the diverse cabinet, the historic appointment of the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, and pardons for all those who were convicted of possession of marijuana.” Build Back Better,” ‘’l true to its word,” Biden kept on saying. “In 2024, with your vote and your passion, we will rise again,” Harris said. Celebrating the Essence Festival of Music, the Biden-Harris campaign established the Black Voters for Biden-Harris, which is a national outreach program for black influencers, leaders, and surrogates across the country for the summer months. This is accentuated by a seven-digit investment, which underlines that the campaign aims to earn Black votes rather than expecting them.
His latest trip to Philadelphia was the third and the sixth visit to the city and to Pennsylvania in a year, evidencing Biden’s determination to engage actively in a battleground state where recent polls consistently show him to be several points behind Trump. While the Democrats are not worried that the city’s Black electorate will shift to Trump, they are concerned about voter apathy resulting in far too many of them failing to vote. The rally was to rekindle the African American voters and bring them to task for the next election in 2024.
