Approximate 101 People Were Killed In The Maui Wildfires Stated By Hawaii’s Governor
The death toll in the Maui wildfires has risen to 101, as stated by Hawaii’s governor Josh Green claimed. This is after a week after the flames had started sweeping through the parts of the island.
The update by the governor’s ability to count the death toll, up from 99 a day before, arose on a day authorities said only four of the dead had been identified. Officials of Maui County have stated that they will be releasing names after their relatives have been notified.
Authorities have gone through a third of the search area as of Tuesday; the country has stated a figure of 32%, while the governor has stated 27% of individuals to have lost lives in the fire.
With this being said, the Hawaiian government has also stated that the death toll will rise on a significant level with time after the officials have searched the whole of Maui County.
The wildfires that have occurred in Maui have resulted in widespread chaos within Maui County. This is because it has raised various concerns regarding the identification of the victims who have lost their lives in the fire.
Many are suggesting that all victims of wildfires should have a DNA test to determine their relatives so that they can effectively conduct the last rituals of the victims. On the other hand, Maui County has also been noted for its capacity to effectively bring electricity after the disaster.
Maui Electric has stated that 80% of its customers have been restored with electricity and has also enhanced the capacity to bring back electricity in public facilities like schools.
The Maui Wildfire is a big example of a natural disaster that can easily disrupt human lives. Due to this, it is crucial that effective environmental laws are implemented for the purpose of avoiding natural disasters.
