Cases and Implications Of U.S. Supreme Court’s New Term
Supreme Court of the United States has begun a new nine-month term. It seems prepared to tackle significant lawsuits and cases that have a major effect on American law.
This term is all set to provide new and fresh opportunities to the conservative majority of the Court. It will be able to have a clear influence on legal decisions.
A list of the cases in this term includes the types of cases that will test the power of the U.S. government agencies.
A similar case aims to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). There is another case that purports to set boundaries on the enforcement actions of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
These are the primary cases, along with the ones related to gun rights. There have been appeals from President Joe Biden’s administration regarding these cases. These appeals come as a result of rulings from the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals apparently shares a similar conservative ideology with the Supreme Court. Moreover, this administration has filed a request to the Court to seek a review on the 5th Circuit decision.
The decision on question has imposed restrictions on the access to the abortion pill, mifepristone. However, the Court is yet to deliver a ruling on the case.
